River Park FAQs: Your Guide to What’s Happening and When

  04-Dec-2025 |   Andrea Habeshaw

There’s a lot happening across the River Park just now — from construction activity and new path development to work that will improve access, biodiversity and opportunities for local people to enjoy the space. With so much progress underway, we know it can sometimes be hard to keep track.

That’s why we’ve brought all of the most common questions together in one place.

Our new River Park FAQs page is designed to give you clear, up-to-date information about what’s happening across the 4km stretch of river valley running from Cameron Bridge and Methilhill all the way to the coast at Leven. Whether you’re curious about timelines, access, tree works, new paths, funding or who’s involved — you’ll find straightforward answers there.

Several major projects are happening at once, including the River Park Programme and the Connectivity Project for walking, wheeling and cycling. These improvements are designed to make the most of the railway reopening, enhance nature and biodiversity, and create a park that everyone can enjoy safely and easily. Understandably, this means there may be changes on the ground while construction is underway — so our FAQs explain what to expect and how to stay updated.

You’ll also find information on:

  • Using the park during construction

  • How new paths and access routes are being delivered

  • What’s happening with vegetation clearance and new planting

  • How the park will be cared for long-term

  • How you can get involved through events, volunteering and community activities

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, we’ve included contact details so you can get directly in touch with the right team.

The River Park will continue to grow and evolve over the coming years, and community involvement remains at the heart of that journey. We hope our FAQs help you feel informed, involved and excited about everything still to come.
