Vacant and derelict land

Through this part of The Connectivity Project, we are looking to unlock opportunities to bring some areas of vacant and derelict land back in to productive use. This workstream will look at opportunities to develop the derelict and contaminated land along the river side with a focus on jobs, training facilities and social enterprise where possible.

What has been done so far?

Work is currently being undertaken to identify owners of the land along the river and contact has been made with some owners with discussions as to how the land could be remediated and brought back in to productive use.

SEPA and Fife Council are working in partnership with landowners to understand the extent of potential contamination in order to scope out opportunities for use at these sites – these will be shared through a consultation programme with communities at a later date.
