Heritage Walk #1: Legends of the Leven

  28-Oct-2025 |   Andrea Habeshaw

The weather offered a bright and breezy autumn morning — perfect for exploring. We encountered only two small puddles along the way (and two cheery dogs who joined in the fun), as we followed routes that revealed both familiar views and hidden paths around the park.

Throughout the walk, the 12 participants discovered new and interesting routes, learnt about the rich history of the area, and heard personal stories from others who have long-standing connections to the places we visited. We were also pleased to be joined by three members of the Levenmouth Rail Campaign, who provided valuable insights into their campaign and the development process behind it.

Several pathways were opened especially for this event, allowing the group a rare opportunity to explore spaces not usually accessible to the public.

The morning was filled with conversation, learning, and shared appreciation for our local environment and its heritage.

We’re grateful to everyone who took part and to Matt for his engaging and knowledgeable guidance. The success of this first event sets the tone for what promises to be an inspiring series of heritage walks celebrating our community’s stories and landscapes.

Stay tuned for details of the next walk in the series — we look forward to welcoming more participants as we continue exploring the area’s rich heritage together.

The next walk is on 29th November. Sign up on Eventbrite
