On 13 January, we were delighted to host the second Levenmouth Green Health Network event, welcoming over 30 attendees from across the local area. The strong turnout highlighted the growing interest in green health and the shared commitment to improving health and wellbeing through time spent outdoors.
The Levenmouth Green Health Network brings together staff from a wide range of organisations, all with an interest and expertise in green health. By connecting people working in different sectors, the network aims to strengthen partnerships, share knowledge, and develop new strategies and interventions that help more people access the benefits of the outdoors for their physical and mental wellbeing
Each network meeting provides an opportunity to spotlight some of the fantastic green health work already happening locally, while also creating space for collaboration and planning. By working together, we can build a coordinated, partnership-based approach that makes outdoor wellbeing opportunities more accessible, effective, and sustainable.
This latest meeting focused specifically on mental health, exploring the levels of support currently offered by existing providers across Levenmouth. Through open discussion, participants identified both the strengths within the network and the gaps in provision—helping us to better understand where future efforts and resources should be directed.
These conversations are a vital step in ensuring that green health activities complement wider mental health support, and that people are able to access the right level of support at the right time.
Over the next three years, the Levenmouth Green Health Network will be delivering targeted campaigns and running events designed to reach those who stand to benefit most from outdoor wellbeing opportunities. A key priority will be providing the right support to help people stay engaged long term, not just take part once.
The network currently includes over 25 local green health providers, and we plan to continue growing this over the coming year. By expanding our network, we can ensure that green health opportunities across Levenmouth are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of our communities.
We’re excited about what lies ahead and look forward to continuing to work together to support healthier, happier communities through nature and the outdoors.
