On 17 December, we’re hosting a free guided walk along part of the River Leven in Fife where people can come along and find out how to spot the signs of otter presence and activity in the area, and if we're lucky, spot some otters too!
Dr Jo Girvan from the Forth Rivers Trust will be leading the tour, and will be providing lots of useful knowledge and insight into these fantastic creatures.
There is estimated to be around 8000 otters living in Scotland and some of these can be found living within the River Leven area. These creatures are fully protected under the Conservation (Natural Habitats & c) Regulations 1994, meaning that it is an offence to harm them or their habitats.
This event has proved very popular and is now fully booked. However, if you missed out this time, there will be other opportunities in the early new year to participate in similar events. Please follow us on Facebook or Twitter to hear about them first.
