A series of projects will be undertaken within the Leven catchment between now and 2030 to help deliver on our vision. You can find further information about each of these projects as well as updates relating to each project as it progresses by clicking on the relevant box below.
Levenmouth Connectivity Project
The Levenmouth Connectivity Project aims to connect the communities of Levenmouth with a walking, wheeling and cycling network which is accessible to all.
The River Park
We are working to deliver an accessible, attractive and biodiverse public park for the local communities of Levenmouth, as well as visitors to the area, that also provides additional off-road active travel links to the new rail stations and connects the on-road active travel network to the river.
River Restoration
The River Leven and the burns and streams that run into it are under huge environmental pressures as a result of its industrial and historical past. We are currently working hard to deliver two projects to address some of these issues.
Leven Unexpected Garden
The Leven Programme, in partnership with OnFife, was awarded funding from the Scottish Government to deliver one of 13 ‘Unexpected Gardens' across Scotland in 2022.
River Leven Heritage
We have developed a Heritage Framework that provides a guiding structure for planning and delivering long term benefits for the people and environment along the River Leven through their shared heritage.
Health and well-being
We are working to identify and support opportunities to improve health and well-being along the River Leven catchment, and to ensure health and well-being benefits are embedded in upcoming projects and activities with The Leven Programme.
Climate Beacons
Climate Beacons for COP26 is a project, created by Creative Carbon Scotland that aims to use culture, heritage and the arts to bring more people into the conversation about climate change.
Fife College partnership
Fife College and its talented students are creating products that will enhance the Programme as well as benefitting the environment and local community.
The Leven Green Network
The Leven Green Network aims to bring people and wildlife together, by making it easy for people to get out and about around the river.
