We are working to deliver an accessible, attractive and biodiverse public park for the local communities of Levenmouth and visitors alike so they can connect with each other, the natural environment and the area’s rich history. If you’d like to find out about the concept behind the River Park Programme, click here to watch our animated video – A journey through the River Leven Park.
In 2020, we published a masterplan report of concept designs focussed on improving active travel in Levenmouth and creating a river park. Informed by this masterplan and the Levenmouth Community Action Plan, we selected a collection of proposals and went on the search for funding...
From 2023-2024, partners worked through a development phase of the project, made possible with a funding award from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This phase was also supported by funding from Sustrans Scotland and Transport Scotland through the Places for Everyone programme, NatureScot through the Nature Restoration Fund, Diageo, SEPA, Green Action Trust via the Scottish Government Nature Network funding, and National Lottery Awards for All.
Through extensive stakeholder and community engagement, we developed plans to enhance the environment around the River Park Routes, aiming to create a safe and welcoming space for communities. The delivery of these plans will provide multi-functional spaces for recreation, play and sport, outdoor community learning and growing, and a green skills academy.
Thanks to partner collaboration, consultants' expertise, funders' advice and community enthusiasm, we have produced 10 projects to be delivered over a 4-year period! Click the project titles below to explore:
Through our Communications Plan, we'll also be bringing in a specialist to revamp this website so it'll be more user-friendly and accessible.
The design reports produced which have informed the delivery phase can be found on our Resources page under Reports. It is worth noting that we haven't been able to take forward everything in these reports. If you see something within them that you'd like to take forward - please do!
We've also collated answers to some questions we're frequently asked. Check them out by clicking here and if you have a question which isn't covered, get in touch.
